Brown–tail moth, Euproctis chrysorrhoea (L.) of Lymantriidae family is distributed in most parts of Europe and Asia. The pest is polyphagous and the larvae feed on forest trees and shrubs and sometimes attacks fruit trees but its prefered host is oak, thus named oak defoliator moth. The insect was reported from northern provinces and northwest areas of Iran. In Arasbaran forests, the moth is the most important oak defoliator causing serious damage to these trees. With regard to importance of natural enemies affecting life history and damage levels of the pest, a complementary study was performed on its identification, distribution and evaluation in Arasbaran forests from 2000 to 2003. During the study, 19 species of natural enemies including one species of nematoda, three species of tachinid flies, three species of spiders , ten species of wasps and two species of acari were identified as predators and parasitoids of young stages of the pest. Furthermore their distribution map and relative efficiency were determined. The identified species of natural enemies are as follows: Monodontomerus aerus Walker (Hym.: Torymidae), Brachymeria intermedia (Hym.: Chalcididae), Meteorus obsoletus (Hym.: Braconidae), Meteorus versicolor(Hym.: Braconidae), Pimpla(=Coccigomimus) turionellae L. (Hym.: Ichneumonidae), , Euplectrus sp. (Hym.: Eulophidae), Diplazon laetatorius (F.) (Hym.: Ichneumonidae), Alcima pictor Aubert (Hym.: Ichneumonidae), Conomorium patulum (Walker) (Hym.: Pteromalidae), Zenillia libatrix (Panzer) (Dip.: Tachinidae), Townsendiellomyia nidicola Townsend (Dip.: Tachinidae), Tachina praeceps Meigen (Dip.: Tachinidae), Thomisas sp. (Aranea: Thomisidae), Cheriacantium sp. (Aranea: Clubionidae), Araneus sp. (Aranea: Araneidae), Callidosoma sp. (Acari: Erythraeidae), Pyemotes tritici (Lagrez-Fossot&Montagne) (Acari: Pyemotidae), Hexamermis sp. (Nematoda: Mermithidae) and anunidentifiedwasp species of Scelionidae family.
