In the course of study on natural enemies of brown tail moth, Euproctis chrysorrhoea (L.) (Lep.: Lymantriidae) in Arasbaran forests, two parasitoid flies were collected from Hejrandoost (elevation 1760m), Molktalesh (elevation 1200m) and Kalaleh Darana (elevation 1330m) in summer of 2003. These flies were identified as Townsendiellomyia nidicola (Townsen, 1908) (Dip.: Tachinidae) and Zenillia libatrix (Panzer, 1798) (Dip.: Tachinidae) by Dr. Hans-Peter Tschorsing of Stutgart Naturkunde Museum (Germany). According to Turcani et al (1998), the first species has been recorded from Kazakistan and the second one is presently a gypsy moth parasitoid in Solvakia. This is the first report of these two genus and species from Iran.
