In the period 1994-2000 an extensive survey was carried out on heteropteran fauna associated with forests and rangelands in many parts of Iran. In these efforts, a species blonging to mirid family, Bryocorin subfamily and Bryocoris tribe was collected on Carpinus betulus at Makidee station (East Azerbaijan, elevation 1550-1750 m) on July 24, 1994' The species was later identified as Rhabdomiris striatellus striatellus Fabr. (Hem.: Miridae) by Dr. Matocq of Paris Museum of Natural History. R. striatellus is a phyophagous bug living mainly on oaks. The species can also be zoophagous. The species is widespread in Europe and in Asia, is recorded from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia and Turkey.
