New record of short-horned grasshoppers (Orthoptera: Acridoidae) for Tehran Province

Abstract

    A faunestic survey was carried out from 2002 to 2006 to study Acridids (Orth: Acrididae) of Tehran province (Damavand, Lavasanat, Karaj, Taleghan, Savojbolagh, Shahriyar and Robatkarim). More than 10000 specimens were collected using insect net and light trap. Consequently, 10 species were identified. The species indicated by an asterisk are new records for Tehran province. All examined materials are deposited in Arthropod and Rodent Museum of RIFR:
