Proceratia caesarilla Ragonot and Prorophora albidogilvella Roesler are the most important seed pests affecting saxaul plants. In order to evaluate natural enemies associated with the seed pest, 200 larvae and pupae were collected from the saxaul plantations and reared in the laboratory in 1993 and 1997. A parasitoid wasp of the family Ichneumonidae was identified. The rate of parasitism was measures as 7% and %2 for the two seed pests, respectively. Parasitoid specimens was identified and further confirmed as Pharetrophora iranica Narolsky by N. Narolsky of the Ukraine Zoological Institute. This was the first report of the species as a parasitoid of Prorophora albidugilvella in the word.
